Health Radar: EATING! How to do it the right way

When you’re hungry, it’s so easy to just grab a bag of chips or a few cookies because it is fast and tasty. Junk food is cheap and accessible, you can just buy it at any local store. Junk food isn’t always the healthiest option, for many reasons. Besides the fact that junk food doesn’t have a lot of nutrition, these sorts of foods are made with preservatives and other things that really aren’t good for your body.

So, how do you eat without feeling guilty? What if you challenged yourself for one week, to MAKE every meal and snack you eat? This may sound difficult, but there are so many options out there! If you take the time to make your junk food, like cookies instead of just buying them at the store; you can actually decide what is in them. Plus your house will smell good, LOL!

There are other alternatives as well. Instead of cookies, try eating fruit, which is high in antioxidants. Watermelon contains lots of iron, half of a medium grapefruit contains 100% of your daily vitamin C, and cantaloupe has 120% of your daily value of vitamin A! You should never feel guilty for eating, but feeling comfortable in your skin comes easier when you make better choices about what you are eating.

Try not to eat for at least one hour before a big meal and make sure to eat breakfast! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it’s proven that people who eat breakfast are healthier and tend to weigh less, than those who don’t eat anything for breakfast. Instant oatmeal is a quick, easy, delicious, and a healthy option as well as fruit, yogurt, cereal, or eggs.

If you are having trouble finding healthier substitutes, the Internet is a great place to turn to. There are THOUSANDS of food and recipe blogs out there, that will give you fantastic suggestions of meals to prepare that taste better and are healthier for your body! Two of my favorites are FoodGawker and YourHealthista. They provide hundreds of healthier options that look and taste fantastic!

Remember, all sizes are beautiful but the most beautiful of all is a healthy figure, no matter what shape that is!

A Quote to digest!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?” - Marianne Williamson
