On Monday, April 11, 2011, Petals-N-Belles, Inc. (PNB) launched Calories That Count, a new fundraising initiative that will take the guilt out of one of our most guilty pleasures. “Calories That Count” will allow pastry and desert lovers alike to enjoy a charitable treat from various New York City bakeries. PNB is partnering with these talented bakers, otherwise known as “sweet dealers” for a spring/summer cupcake drive.
Running through September 22, 2011, the last day of summer, you can put your sweet tooth to good use and become a cupcake distributor. PNB will supply each distributor with donated cupcakes to sell in your office, at school, to friends, guests at private events and anyone willing to support this amazing cause. Proceeds from the drive will help support PNB’s 2011 mentoring programs.
Guests who attended the New York City March 28th Influence Event Series: 27, hosted by PNB’s Executive Director E. Isis Adewale, had a chance to sample some of the treats to come and enjoyed mini cupcakes donated by Marla Acosta, lead designer at Harlem’s Tonnie’s Minis. Instead of offering ladies a drink, gentlemen offered a “sweet treat” and some even offered a “kiss”, the decadent red velvet cupcake swirled with pound cake.
Petals-N-Belles is committed to inspiring, empowering and cultivating today’s young women. Change starts with us. Join the movement!
